Divine HomeCare Solutions win BAME Business Leader Award!

Divine HomeCare Solutions is delighted to announce that earlier this year we were crowned winners of the, BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) Business Leader award at the first Enterprising West of England ‘Ones to Watch 2020’. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and are delighted to have our business recognised not only for its ethnic diversity, but also for its passion and hard work caring for our clients in the Southwest.

Divine HomeCare Solutions is managed by Farayi Gwenzi who, as the award says, truly stands out as a successful business leader. His motivation, hard work and passion for our organisation has truly taken it from strength to strength since we first opened back in 2013. All our staff are so elated that Farayi has been recognised and praised for the amazing work he has done in making Divine HomeCare Solutions into what it is today.  He is an incredibly humble man and as much as he would never take the spotlight it must be said that our team would not be where it is today without him. “A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well, and to help those who are doing well to do even better.” – A quote that truly sums up the attitude and qualities of our business leader. Farayi had this to say about the winning the BAME award,

I am humbled to receive the award on behalf of Divine. The BAME award means a lot to me personally, to my family and to our organisation. I believe that it is a recognition of the continued dedication and hard work that our carers and staff do as well as the faith that the people who use our services have in us for without them we would not be where we are today. I am optimistic that the future has greater things in store for all of us as we go into the year 2020 and beyond.

As well as the awards ceremony the night also had inspirational talks from profound business owners across the Southwest including, Poku Osei, Babbasa and Nick Hounsfiled founder of, The Wave Bristol. These presentations provided a priceless insight into how these local businesses operate, and how their leaders and team have grown them into what they are today. It’s exciting to see how many small businesses across the West of England, like ours, have managed to flourish and adapt, despite all adversity.

The ones to watch awards run every year in February and this year the ceremony was held at Bristol Old Vic. The Enterprising West of England programme has been in motion since 2017 and does a lot to support SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises) in the West of England. It is funded by The European Regional Development Fund and runs in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Prince’s Trust, the YTKO Group, Cool Ventures, NSEA and Planet Mark Start. It’s fantastic to see such a strong collaboration between councils and organisations to fuel business innovation and recognise independent talent teamwork and diversity.

What Divine HomeCare Solutions will take away from the experience is that as a healthcare organisation, we are heading in the right direction. Our primary goal has always been to provide the best care to clients and their loved ones and everything else will follow. This is what motivates us as a team and Farayi as a leader, it drives our organisation forward and winning this prestigious award helps reinforce this achievement.

Finally we would like to say a huge congratulations to all the other winners and an equally big thank you to Enterprising West of England for our award and putting on a truly special evening.
